1954-1955년에 제작된 이 시리즈는 피카소가 존경했던 예술가들에게 경의를 표하기 위해 그린 작품 중 하나로 Eugène Delacroix 의 1834년 그림 The Women of Algiers in their Apartment에서 영감을 받았습니다.

Collecting the entire series of paintings, drawings, and lithographs for the first time, Picasso & "Les Femmes D’Alger" offers an accessible guide to the cycle’s origin and reception alongside the Delacroix and Matisse works which inspired it.
The series, created in 1954–1955, was inspired by Eugène Delacroix's 1834 painting The Women of Algiers in their Apartment (French: Femmes d'Alger dans leur appartement). The series is one of several painted by Picasso in tribute to artists that he admired.
